BREW GUIDES
Here are some of our favorite brew methods to help you at home. Moving from the world of automatic brewers to pour-overs can seem a bit overwhelming at first, so please let us know if you have any questions. In the meantime, these guides should help you get started.
CHEMEX 8-CUP COFFEE MAKER
Total Brew Time: 6 - 7 minutes
Needed Components
- Water Kettle
- Scale
- Chemex unit & filter
- 800g water
- 50g ground Servant Coffe
Brewing
Remember to place the Chemex on a scale during brewing and zero/tare the scale.

Insert filter into the top of the Chemex

Pre-soak the filter with hot water, then discard water

Place your coffee grounds in the filter

Ensure water is between 195-205F, just below boiling

Pour about 100g of water over the grounds to Bloom (30 sec)

Then pour about 200g every minute until finished. Total brew time between 6-7min
Kalita Wave Dripper
Total Brew Time: 3 minutes
Needed Components
- Water Kettle
- Scale
- Kalita Wave dripper & filter
- Collection vessel
- 400g water
- 25g ground Servant Coffee
Brewing
Remember to place the vessel and Kalita Wave dripper on a scale during brewing and zero/tare the scale.

Insert filter into top of the Kalita

Pre-soak the filter with hot water, then discard water

Place your coffee grounds in the filter

Ensure water is between 195-205F, just below boiling
5
Pour about 50g of water over the grounds to bloom (30 sec)

Then pour about 120g of water
7
After 15sec, pour about 60g of water every 15sec until finished. Total brew time around 3min
