We’re excited to bring you another harvest of this delightful coffee grown by Julián Calderón and brought to us by our good friends at La Real Expedición Botánica (LaREB).

From a sourcing philosophy, the work of LaREB falls right in line with our goal of transparency, quality, and direct relationships, and we are honored to have a chance to work with these amazing people. Per LaREB, “We are not just exporters; we are an inter-regional collective of cultivators, researchers, and other coffee professionals whose objective is to facilitate market access for those who, like us, don’t feel represented by the current rules of international coffee trading. This is a quality-driven group, dedicated to bringing the best out of already good coffees by focusing on diverse processing protocols.” We’ve been working with LaREB since literal ‘Day 1’, and we’re very proud of the work they do and the coffees they produce.

This single farm microlot comes from Palestina, in Southern Huila, and continues our exploration of bright, high-altitude washed Colombian coffees. This coffee delights with a burst of pink grapefruit flavor and juicy acidity, finishing with the subtle sweetness of white honey and a hint of florality reminiscent of orange blossoms.

This lot was grown at an elevation of around 1690 MASL and is fully washed. The cherries ae picked over-ripe, rested in husk for 24 hours, and open fermented for 48 hours before going in the greenhouses to dry for 15 days. We’ve been looking forward to continuing our relationship with Julián and LaREB, and this one does not disappoint.

Salud!
