Yoiner Mosquera is back! We love all of our coffees for different reasons, but we get especially excited about this coffee.

Brought to us by our friends at La Real Expedición Botánica (LaREB), the same Colombian collective that brought us Mustafa, Colina del Viento and others, LaREB brings together small producers from various regions throughout Colombia. Ana Mustafá is the director of the collective, and her family have been coffee farmers in the region for nearly 80 years. She is the third generation, and now runs the coffee farms alongside her father and cousin Claudia. From a sourcing philosophy, the work of LaREB falls right in line with our goal of transparency, quality, and relationship, and we are honored to have a chance to work with these amazing people.

This coffee comes from Palestina, in the municipality of Huila, and demonstrates some very unique flavors compared to the ‘classic Colombian’ flavor profile. This coffee delights the pallet with a burst of passionfruit and blood orange, and rolls into a bright, citric acidity that reminds us of a lime sorbet.

This lot was grown at an elevation of around 1620 MASL and is fully washed. The cherries ae picked over-ripe, rested in husk for 24 hours and open fermented for 48 hours before going in the greenhouses to dry for 20 days. We’ve been looking forward to this second harvest, and we’re excited to offer it.

Salud!
