There’s something special about a great Kenyan coffee, and this one from Gakui is a perfect example of why we love coffees from this part of the world.

Grown on the cool, misty slopes of Kenya’s Aberdare Range in Murang’a County, this coffee comes from a community of approximately 1,000 smallholder farmers who deliver their freshly harvested coffee cherries to the Gakui Coffee Factory. The region’s high elevations and cooler temperatures allow the coffee cherries to mature slowly, developing the complex sugars and vibrant acidity that make Kenyan coffees so distinctive.

Gakui is an AA-grade coffee, a designation given to some of Kenya’s largest, densest coffee beans. But what really makes this coffee stand out is what’s happening in the cup.

Expect an incredible combination of juicy white peach and stone fruits, balanced by the sweetness of honey and a citrusy brightness. The body is light and delicate, yet remarkably clean, with a long, sweet finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.
